A man from Topsham, Maine, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Portland to failing to surrender for service of sentence.

Court documents state that Christopher Tucker, 34, had previously been released on conditions while awaiting sentencing for firearms offenses. After pleading guilty in a prior case in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine, he was sentenced to 75 months in prison. At his sentencing hearing in September 2025, Tucker was allowed to remain free until a scheduled self-surrender date to begin his prison term. However, he did not report as ordered. The United States Marshals Service later located and arrested him in Bath, Maine.

Tucker could face up to 10 additional years in prison, which would be served consecutively to his previous 75-month sentence. He may also be fined up to $250,000 and receive up to three years of supervised release. Sentencing will take place after the U.S. Probation Office completes a presentence investigative report. A federal judge will determine the final sentence based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other legal considerations.

The United States Marshals Service conducted the investigation into this case.
