An Old Town resident has pleaded guilty in federal court to charges related to drug trafficking in Penobscot County. Alan Dziob, 44, admitted his involvement in a conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute fentanyl, cocaine base, methamphetamine, and cocaine.
Court records indicate that between January and April 2021, Dziob worked with others to distribute these drugs in the Penobscot County area and other locations. During this period, he regularly supplied drugs to a local dealer for resale.
Dziob could face a minimum of five years and up to 40 years in prison. He also faces a fine of up to $5 million and at least four years of supervised release, which could extend for life. Sentencing will take place after the U.S. Probation Office completes a presentence investigation report. The final sentence will be determined by a federal district judge who will consider the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Somerset County Sheriffâs Office.
