A Mexican national, Alfredo Gonzalez-Peleaz, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Bangor for illegally reentering the United States after being previously removed. Judge John A. Woodcock, Jr. imposed a sentence of time served on Gonzalez-Peleaz, who has been incarcerated since November 11, 2025.
Court records indicate that in November 2025, a Border Patrol agent encountered Gonzalez-Peleaz and his brother, Isidro Gonzalez-Peleaz, as they were leaving a jobsite in Calais. The agent conducted an immigration inspection and determined that both men were Mexican citizens without legal documentation to be in the United States. Further review showed that Alfredo Gonzalez-Peleaz had been deported from the country in January 2012 at Calexico, California.
The case was investigated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Isidro Gonzalez-Peleaz also received a sentence of time served earlier the same day from Judge Woodcock.
According to the press release: “Operation Take Back America: This case is part of Operation Take Back America a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.”
