Attorney General Aaron M. Frey has commented on a recent decision by the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts, which ruled in favor of a coalition challenging federal restrictions on wind energy development.

“Mainers care about protecting our environment. Whatever the federal Administration’s position is on wind power, it does not have the right to arbitrarily ban development of this sustainable energy resource. I am gratified that the Court agreed that the Administration had once again, overstepped. My colleagues and I will continue to hold Trump accountable to the law,” Frey said in a statement.

The court’s order granted summary judgment for those opposing what they described as an arbitrary ban by the federal government on wind energy projects.
